The »Special Mention« distinction of the German Design Awards pays tribute to consistent design conception and implementation. In each category, the jury awards an appropriate number of entries with this mark of excellence for innovative design based on their quality. They are selected by a separate expert jury for each category of the German Design Awards.
The awards set the highest standards in terms of selecting their winners: in a unique nomination process, companies whose products and communication design services demonstrably exhibit design excellence are invited to enter.
The German Design Awards constitute the German Design Council’s premium international prize, and are one of the world’s most renowned design competitions. The goal is to discover, showcase and recognise unique design trends. As such, high-calibre submissions from the fields of architecture, product and others – all of which play a pioneering role within the international design landscape in their own way – are honoured every year.
