The house on the island of Kefalonia with its breathtaking view of the Ionian Sea, and the mountains of Kefalonia behind it, calls for a unique architecture and design.
The architecture, layout, and overall exterior and interior design are the work of Studio Interio and designer Irena Rumen.
The lines of the architectural design are characteristic of modernism and more specifically hint at desert modernism, with its thick stone walls, wonderfully protecting from the heat. Modernism as an architectural style with its single-storey 'pavilion' type construction, cubic volumes sewn together into a whole, proves to be a perfect fit for the semi-arid part of Kefalonia. A pool has been added to the exterior space on the extended common concrete platform, which additionally incorporates an outdoor seating area with a fireplace and soft furniture.
The elements of the exterior and interior, built as part of the overall structure of the house, create a sense of 'groundedness' and naturalness of beach living.
The interior design complements the architecture of the house itself with warm plasters of natural materials and colors, epoxy floors, minimalism and naturally rough wood and decoration, carrying the naturalistic feeling of organicity, calm and lightness of the space.
Studio Interio has designed the exterior architecture and architectural design of this unique beach residence: from the massive stone walls and cubic volumes to the unifying concrete platform with pool and outdoor living area.
Studio Interio has created the interior floor layout together with the exterior spaces — the pool, barbeque, outdoor dining, lounge and sitting areas.
